Job Description:

 

Basic purpose of job

To Maintain and Monitor SQL Server for US Client which involves Production Support SQL DBA.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for maintaining & monitoring SQL Server System and Databases on call support for 24/7
• Responsible for Installations, Upgradations, Patching of SQL Server
• To resolve and rectify all Production Issues within SLAs.
• Maintain Backup and Recovery Plans for all Databases.
• Monitoring Jobs, Error Logs, Server Space, Health of Databases & Servers.
• Responsible for Troubleshooting Operating System with respect to SQL Server
• Implement Rollouts and Changes to Database by following specific Standards and processes.
• Configuration and Maintenance of Standby Servers with Replication, Log Shipping
• Installation & Troubleshoot of SQL Clusters.
• Create Disaster Recovery Plans for High end Critical Servers.
• Knowledge of DTS / SSIS will be added advantage.
• Knowledge of Various Tools like LiteSpeed, Legato, Remedy, Control-M will be added advantage

• Ability to plan and prioritize the work ahead effectively.
• Escalates issues/risks in a timely manner
• Ability to communicate effectively with the team the technical/client requirements
• Should be able to identify problem areas and resolve the same logically and independently

 

Client Management

• Ability to orient and adapt to the client environment quickly.
• Effectively communicates with client ensuring all commitments made are met consistently
• Manages client expectations/satisfaction.
• Ensure all issues are resolved without holding up the project Manages and communicates difficult/sensitive client situations tactfully.
